Importing Food
If you bring food into New Zealand & plan to sell it, you must register as a food importer with MPI & follow New Zealand’s food safety & importing rules.
Food importers are responsible for meeting regulatory requirements specified by MPI under the Food Act 2014. This means:

having procedures in place to recall food if something goes wrong, or you find out there is a problem with it.
